Materials & Process

Each portrait is created using carefully selected, professional‑grade materials, chosen for their longevity and quality.

I begin with a hand drawing using a Tom’s Studio Lumos pen with Platinum Carbon Ink, a richly black, lightfast, archival ink that will not fade or bleed when painted over.

The artwork is produced on Arches Aquarelle 300gsm paper, a museum‑quality watercolour paper made from 100% cotton. Its texture and weight provide exceptional durability and allow the paint to sit beautifully within the surface.

Colour is applied using Schmincke professional watercolours.
